I saw a LUV this morning near my house. I was taking my kids to school and not in my LUV (s).
It was primer black with maybe white pinstripe, and across the windshield it said "Da Bow Tie".
I've never seen it before and don't know who it is.
I've also seen a white with black front end clip LUV around a few times.
I'm always going the wrong way to talk to them!

I saw this truck again and stoped to talk with him.

He works at an auto repair shop about 1 mile from my house.
He saw me going down the street in my white truck and a couple hours later on my way back I saw his parked at the shop. I didn't see it going the first direction because of the bushes it was parked next to.(wrong angle).

Any way, The top of the winshield says "bad bowtie".
It's an 80 he bought in 85! It's lowered and all stock drive train. He just got it up and running about a week ago. It had been down for about a year because someone hit it while it was parked.
He said he has been to this site a few times. I invited him to join and told him that he could probably find all the parts he needs on here.
I took a pic of his truck with my cell, but I didn't ask him if I could post it, so I will wait on that.
I'll go see him again soon and show him my blue truck.

Saw a red 80 long bed in the high school lot today. I put a LUVTruck note on it and then the owner showed up.
He bought it for $300 at a police auction. It's an automatic and pretty rough looking. It's his beater for work.
While taking with him he mentioned that his grandparents own Don Steves Chevrolet. http://www.donsteveschevrolet.com/
I was like WTF? Why don't you have a Corvette or something? They must hate you! He laughed and said he has a Silverado at home. This truck is just a beater for work and stuff.
He wants to fix it up a little so he said he would check out the site.

I saw this one at Whiskey Pete's , State Line /Primm, NV. I thought it was still a working LUV but it belongs to the lead mechanic for the casino motor pool and it has a bad eng. He put the amber light on the roof to get away with storing it at work. :D He would not sell it to me and says he wants to rebuild it soon. It is a 4X and no rust. Check out the spare tire mount.

That spare tire mount is a California only thing, it was due to a emissions deal that left no room for the tire under the bed. I have one of those mounts, do you need it Ron?

I saw this one at the Pomona Swap Meet on Sunday. I don't know what year it is. Any guesses?

The key is the solid red tail lights, one year only, I just cant remember what year it was. 800XL HELP

Ron did you take your kids? Nothing like a father/son/daughter heading out to a automotive swapmeet early in the morn. It looks like some of the younger want nothing to do with older cars or their parents anymore.

To the best of my knowledge that is a 1975. Those were on my 75 originally. . .

A couple buddies went and my oldest son drove us in his F250. He wanted to put some freeway miles on the 3 day old rebuilt trans.
One buddy has two 67 bugs, the other has a 55 1/2 ton Chevy p.u., a 65 Chevelle, and a 72 3/4 ton Chevy, p.u. We were parts and tools shopping.
I'm still sore today. That's a lot of walking.

My '75 has these. Cool to know that '75 is unique... until I need to replace one of these lenses.

This is my 80 LUV parked next to our 500ton Demag truck crane. I was on the 15th floor of a building under construction, giving direction to the crane operator. So I got this pic with my phone. This crane is HUGE!! I am surprised how big the LUV still looked that high up and next to that big ol crane. All the other trucks in the pic are full size Ford and Chevys.
