For rubber door weatherstripping most guys are using

I'm looking too. I checked out window seals in about 20 different makes/years/models of trucks today at the wrecking yard. So far, it's looking like the best bet is going to be late 70's to early 80's Chevy full size trucks. It even looks like the window sweeps might work if they can be cut down. I'm probably going back tomorrow to get a set of Isuzu mirrors, if I do I will pull some seals and test fit them on the '79.

BTW, the rear seat belts in an '85 Trooper match the latch on a stock Luv seat belt. They look like they are a bit shorter than what was originally installed, but mine are both broken and anything is better than what I've got now...

For my '79 I used the following:

Window channel: JC Whitney part no. ML143542. It fit perfectly and comes in 8 foot lengths which is more than enough to do one door.

Door weatherstripping: Front door seals from a 1990 Trooper. Other years will also fit. The seals have the same cross section shape as the LUV seals and have the added advantage of having the angle for the upper door corner built in. You can find them at any wrecking lot and they should cost a lot less than aftermarket seals.

I took a small sample of the window felt to the local auto glass shop in town, and they ordered in what I needed. Worked great, and was very cheap. Might try that.
