i don't see how it could be all THAT hard. i believe the A833 was an option on the early 80's gm FULL size trucks. i think the 1 tons specifically. maybe if you could get a bell from one of those. and somehow adapt either a mech. linkage or even a hydraulic one. it might just work. just too much hassle IMHO. they are good transmissions though. an M22 would be probably just as good and probably easier to mate to a SBC. it's the input shaft length and diameter that i'd be worried about. that and the clutch. i don't know too much about dodges. have you tried the chevy truck board? i know there are some pretty knowledgable people there. IIRC joel rosen put one of those transmissions in a 2nd gen camaro. it was pretty weird seeing a mopar pistol grip shifter in a '81 camaro. good luck.

edit.. i just forgot about lakewood. i think i remember seeing a bell on there site. let me check. found a lakewood bell for a ford toploader to a SBC. sorry bro.

this isn't the "hemi" version its the regular iron case non-OD version, still really strong though

the muncies and the t-10's are strong but the factory aluminum cases are the weak link.a toploader is strong too but i'm not putting a ford trans in my truck

Keeping the bolts torqued and checked on the aluminum housings will help em live. I've got a M22 out of an old pro stocker with the Doug Nash pro gears. I've never replaced the case, Just 1 set of synchros and 3 sets of shift forks in 20 years... TransDapt might be able to help if you want to use the iron lung.

You mean i might have problems with my T-10? I DON'T THINK SO. But again i will say it "some people can tear up an anvil with a feather" if you are one then go auto. Now for your question the mopar trans has a lot longer in put shaft then a GM so you will have to locate an adapter to get it to fit and good luck. And a alum.trans will hold up just as long as that HEAVY iron trans will and you can shift them faster as well.

mcleod has a modular bell. you might be able to piece something together there. i totally forgot about those guys. i haven't messed with a stick shift swap in a long time.

the mcleod modular bell site

http://www.mcleodind.com/Application_Gu ... USING.html

hope that helps. looks like it might work. i'd be worried about the clutch disc and flywheel setup. and the actuation. good luck bro.
