since i am a racer and need to cut weight, i thought maybe everyone would like to know the aerospace 5 lug kit took 50 lbs off the front of my luv. that's ttl weight including tires and wheels, but tires and wheels was only 10lbs difference, so the majority of the weight was saved in the hubs, calipers, and rotors..that should put me @ 2590lbs with a bbc.
even though it ran 9.75 @138mph in ennis tx , i'm going to build another one to go even faster. i Will stretch the fenders, shorten the bed , lower it, ladder bar it. i'm tired of the old stock suspension, so time to start building

yes i did order from aerospace with shipping it was 600. the stock brakes are ok but, at the speeds i run, i wanted a lil insurance. i have not tried them yet but i'll bet it stops allot quicker now. stop on a dime and give some change.

no photo at this time. get rid of those drums. sounds like a crash looking for a place to happen. if you have seen the aerospace adds in the mag's then you have seen them. very very nice, top notch workmanship for sure.

That is what I was thinking about the drum brakes. I have gotten stuff in the mail from Aerospace. It looks like really good stuff. That is probably who I will go with when I switch the brakes over. Not to change the subject but I saw in one of your other post that you raced in the Summit Series in Ennis. Did you make it to the final there? If so I saw a picture of your truck in Drag News magazine.

yes i made it to the finals in the race of champions. cut a .008 light and ran a 9.88 on a 9.80 dial and got beat by .008 at the stripe. i found out after the race my slicks were showing cords. i will try again this year, but i bet i have new slicks this time...should run some 9.60's with good slicks

Congratulations on making it that far. That would make one nervous seeing cords showing on your slicks. Your truck is hauling the mail. My Luv runs high 9's to low 10's with the best pass this last spring being 9.80 @ 138.

Any one thought about getting rid of the front brakes all together?
Get someone to machine a set of aluminum hubs and add a "shoot"

BIG FUZZIES.....

Removing unsprung weight is good. Beyond a point, less is more. You just must make it weigh less. Fiberglass will help some.

BIG holesaw :x

It gets more expensive after a while.

cool, autofab is right down the road from me.

50# unsprung weight should do wonders for a race truck. I cant wait to get me a kit

Heres my kit. I got the street kit with the drilled and slotted rotors. I thought it was worth it but they are pretty pricey.

Thanks for the picture. I've seen very few of these kits pictures on the forums.

What exactly do you get with the kit?
