yes and no. Before i started working on the truck the timing was about 40 deg BTDC 8O and the float bowl wasn't working, the elec choke was all jacked up, gas mileage was bad, so on and son on. It runs MUCH better now, but when i put it back together the accel pump doesnt seem to be pumpin gas??? :? Cant figure it out, the ball is in their, the spring is in the right direction, and all the linkage is good?? It was working before also- this hitachi is real touchy!!!! Any suggestions besides buying a weber hahah

the slow jets looked good. I took everything off the carb and cleaned w/ carb cleaner and compressed air-nothing looked real bad, a little varnish here and there.

Maybe your love would like me to prim it?

(I couldn't resist) LOL

4x4luver, that Fram® oil filter has got to go! Try Wix®.

Make sure the port for the accel. pump is not clogged. Mine was plugged and I was able to get the carb spray to shoot through it.

is there any gas in the well of the accel pump. if you took off the pump and looked down the hole, just seeing if it was sucking gas in there.

my acell pump did the same thing. I took the cover off, pulled the piston out and filled the chamber with gas. I then reinstalled the piston and actuated it up and down by hand and it started pumping. With out removing it I reinstalled the cover and now it pumps fine. With all the linkage off you can feel what is going on with the pump better.

yeah i took it off last night and their is plenty fuel in the chamber, I also took the linkage of and actauated it by hand. It feels to me pressure is escaping somewhere when i actuate it down?? even then i think some pressence of fuel would come out the jet...but then again i never had to mess w/ this before so i have nothin to go off of. I looked everything over, and couldnt find anything unusual. Oh well drove to work this morning and everything was fine. 8) thanks for all the help guys
