Hi all

I have an early 70's Luv ute and am considering a motor change to a v6 out of local car (holden commodore). the motor is based on a buick v6. Has anybody seen this conversion and secondly are you/they happy with it?

thanks all..

Hi and welcome! Where in Austrailia? I was in Brisbane a couple of years ago, and in Gold Coast for spring break (a lot of tipsy fun). Anyway, there are a few here who have done Buick V6 swaps, but I myself am not one of them. If you wait a little I'm sure someone will chime in with some info for you.

Yes! The Buick V-6 is an excellent replacement to the stock motor. Although is isn't a direct swap, the extra modifications required are worth it. My first V-6 was done in 1986 and i've had 4 different motors over the years. Although im not familiar with the Holden commodore, im assuming it is of the same engine family. If you have any specific questions, let me know and i'll do my best to answer as best as i can...John
