My luv does not have the battery tray mounted under the hood. It is in the bed in a plastic battery box.

Can anyone post some pictures of the tray, stock or with a V8 in it. Mine is a V8. I want to get the battery out of the bed.

thanks

Have you thought about mounting it on the right hand side under the bed just behind the cab. There are allot of Dodge and Chevy Diesel vans that have a frame mount battery box or build your own.I once had a Mazda rotary pickup that the battery was mounted this way from the factory. You can set it up to slide the battery in or make a access door from the top.

I bought this one, but my son thinks it sucks. He would leave it in the bed as I am going to put a round moon type tank in the bed. You can not get to the battery, jump nan baly, blayyyy

I was looking to put it at the front of the bed or under the cab too. I even saw one bask on the spare tire area. No spare tire stuff came with mine.

I am not sure how I would get to it but I am open to suggestions

That is what I am thinking about doing. I may use part of that battery hold down, some metal and what ever I have hanging around.

Frame mount for a street Luv may be a bad idea.

Why would a frame mount be bad? The Dodge and Chevy van you slide the battery in from the end so you can get them out fairly easy and yes you have to lay down to do it but the battery would be out of the way and the weight would be toward the rear where in needs to be.

You can always cut a hole on the floor of the bed and make a little access. And I'm sure you could put it in a box attached to the frame too. In fact, that sounds like a great idea. I wonder if a side terminal bat would be better, i guess if it was in a box it wouldn't matter.

Yep cut a hole in the floor a couple of hinges a piece of strap metal for the door to lay on and it would be almost invisible.
