Please and thank you.

Luvrv8, looks like it stops with '81 and '82, so that is my question. Is it "80 or "81? I e-mailed Roadshow, so we'll see...

Based on the post provided I'd say it's an '80. Didn't they change the body style in '81?

Second-Generation LUV (1981-1982)

If there was anything endearing about the first LUV's appearance, the second LUV buried it under sheets of bland, featureless metal. No truck has ever been more generic-looking than the 1981 LUV.

I don't know about the vin numbers, but I do know that the 81 Luv has a more rounded body, and fenders. The distinctive belt line is gone and the grill is flat compared to our v shape grills. See John I told you. The vents on the pillars were filled in.
With what I could see in the pictures John sent me, I would say the truck would be worth no more that 400.00 as the engine has a crack in it and of course a few other items missing or broken. But in would be a great rebuild vehicle if a person had the time and money to do it.

Dan Ole Man, I agree with you. Eric, on the Money once again. I mean money, not the software program sold by that outfit out of Redmond. You know the one. Quiet, please.

1980 4x4. Thank you everybody!!!

FullaLuv, you just can't let that topic die can you? lol.

dbest5012, I'm a bit cheaper than you. I advised John not to go over $200 unless there were a bunch of things that he specifically needed and he was sure the parts truck had them in good shape. Right now it kind of feels like John is trying to fill an emotional need before having all the facts regarding what's wrong with his truck.

Best of luck John.

Eric Q.

in some respect, I agree with you Eric, but considering the roll bar and the dash, you'd pay more for those two items than the 400.00 I suggested.

However, no matter how you and I feel about the price, It's entirely up to john, on how much he feels he needs the truck. I thank you for your candor.

Plus, if the condition of the bed is as good as it looks to be, I would even buy it from john, but he's already has plans for it on his present truck.

I just Luv this site and all the guys that are here!!
