Over the weekend, I decided to tackle the few rust spots on the Luv.

Had on half dollar size hole on a 1/4 panel, that I repaired with a small piece of sheet metal, JB welded from the inside. Still needin some kind of filler, and not being very familiar with or a fan of bondo, I found something that works incredibly. It's call QuickSteel.

If you have never used this stuff, go get some.I used it to patch the rust hole, and found a few in the floor that need attention. This stuff is plyable like clay but drys hard as steel yet is still sandable. Not being much of a paint and body guy I think I did a pretty good job. will post some pics and further explaination of the finished project later.

Happy New Year to all!!

I have used it before, infact I ran across a tube of it in my tool box today, it was hard as a rock. I broke my wifes side view mirror off once, and found this stuff, I got the mirror back on, and it never came off again, my brother inlaw tried it on his exhaust manifolds, but it didn't work on that, it is good stuff.

Wish i had taken some actual before shots of this project. Here are some shots of the completed job, rust repaired. Since I am no paint and body guy and was not about to try to match oxydized paint, I decided to solve that issue with a bit of an updated and practical paint scheme.

I used Bondo roll on bedliner and some peel n stick striping for the job, looks really nice and I figure since this is a 4x4, then it will server to keep rust and brush scratches to a minimum.

BTW, I also plan to do the area just above the upper stripes to just under the lower window framing, all the way back for some balance.

And the front bumper is next, as soon as I can get the old peeling chrome plating and primer blasted off.

more to come
