i wouldnt go with the 38 weber on the 1.8. it a little too much. youd be good with a properly jetted 32/32. also, all the igntion stuff you talk about isnt going to make a very noticable difference in power.

since it an 81 im pretty sure it has electronic igniton, so hookin up an MSD box would be and easy task. the box along with a MSD coil for an electronic igintion system would be more than better for your application.

on my truck (84 pup, 1.9l impulse engine, 32/32weber) i run and MSD 6A box on the stock coil. i also have MSD 8.5mm wires. when i put that stuff on, it made all the difference in the world. it would start easier, straight up run better and it wouldnt miss like it did before. the MSD box also eliminated the high RPM miss i had.

these are all just some suggestions. dont want to make any decisions for ya.
:D

I already have the weber 38 and the crane ignition and the accel coil.
I dont have the adapter, linkage or air cleaner for the carb, when i ordered it i didnt think i'd need it since it had a weber on it already.
but this one fits on the intake manifold as is, I guess it was made for an old fiat and was sold smog legal in california back in 93 i beleive. :D

what do i do :?:

i dont think the weber is going to fit on the stock intake without an adapter. a weber will fit on a weber intake, but not the other way. if you already have a weber than you have an adapter already.

cool deal on the ignition parts. id like to see how you setup the crank trigger. might shed some light on how i can get a megasquirt to control my fuel and spark with my FI intake.

when i had realized that i didnt have the same carb i called the place i bought it from and told him the number thats stamped on my old carb.
he said it was originally for a fiat spyder.
as for a nissan carb fitting on your 72.....not sure that the intake is the same as my 81 but it might bolt up...never know.

we will see how the ignition goes sometime in january weather permitting, so its not likely.
