 Post subject: glow plugs

having trouble with glow plugs. the person i bought my 81 deisel try to bypass the relay and put a silinoid. wondering how the relay works and what type of battery it would use. looks like 12v. so i can put it the way it was cuz its damaging my glow plugs. thanks

it is spelled Diesel.
