So I am going to have the S-10 rear axle, so it is time to buy new rims, and I wanted to know, would a 15 x 7 with a 4 inch backspacing be enough to tuck underneath the fender ?

I have looked through that discussion, and it seems that everyone is chatting about deep dish rims and such, but I already asked there and there is no response to my question. I just want 7 inch rallys :D

It looks like you'll have about an inch or so for the tire to fit inside the fender. This means you'll need to run a narrow tire. If you have a stock motor truck, it shouldn't be a problem. If you have a V-6 or V-8 powered truck, you'll have hook up problems getting the power to the pavement.

Eh, I have a SBC in it, but its a boulevard cruiser, not a drag truck, so if I run 215-235 its not a big deal for me. I think 225 would be ok

By my calculations you are fine. You'll have room to spare.

The widest wheel on an s-10 10 bolt rear end that will fit under a non-modified Luv fender is a 15 x 10 with 5.5" backspacing.

From your drum mounting surface to the frame measures 7.25".
From your frame to the top of your fender is 11.25".

With that backspacing you have about .75" or 3/4 of an inch between your tire and the frame on the inside of the wheel/rim. I am alotting .75 for the tire to stick out beyond the rim.

The tight area is the upper fender. Your 10" wheel + .75" x 2 = 11.25 <-- the exact stock space avaliable. Luv upper fender has a small 1/4 rolled edge/lip. I'm thinking I'll have to cut that off.

We'll see. Should look mean with the fender completely filled from side to side with rubber.

Hyper: Did you take into account tire flex, and such like that ? In no way am I doggin' your data, because it all seems really well done, I just wanted to make sure you didn't get into a situation and  look like that.

I did not take into account flex. You are meaning side to side movement like when you are cornering?

I have .75 on the inside, outside is way closer.

Yeah tire movement side to side when cornering, unless using a really low profile series tire could be an issue. . . Like the dragsters plan for 'tire growth' on launch when the tires get taller, street cars have to worry about the side to side, and it sounds like you are working with pretty close tolerances.

I have about 1/2 to 3/4 inch clearence between outside fender and tire and have no issues. I run a 10.5 sportman pro that wrinkles the side wall on launch. I guess it would depend how much your tire flexes and how far the tire fits up in the fender well.
