Anybody here ever done a conversion to get chevy car pattern(4 3/4) on the Dana 44 axles? Wondering if it would be easier to try to have mine re-drilled or just hunt for aftermarket. I will be using the Dana 44 rear out of a mail jeep, I know there are several Luvs on here that are running this rear end and I'm curious to see what you have done. Thanks in advance-Skeeter

If Its A Jeep It Should Have Small Ford Pattern, So You Should Have Room To Redrill The Axels, You Could Also Buy Undrilled Axels and Have Them Drilled To Small Chevy.

It will more than likely be 5 x 5.5 . Just redrill the axle and drum.

Thanks for the replies. My axles are now 5x5 1/2, looks like I will be trying to get them redrilled. It looks like I will have to have some of the center flange turned down as well to get down to 4 3/4. I am gonna do some digging around and see if I can scare up some old Impala drums or something-if I can't find anything that works I will just have the Jeep drums drilled. Wasn't really planning on discs on the rear, Shackled- How involved/costly is your rear disc swap going to be?
I already picked up my s-10 front brakes, gonna be going the "Black luv 80" route.Got the rear end and the s-10 stuff this past weekend. Thanks again-Skeeter

Moser will make any axel with any bolt pattern you need. Check them out, they have great price's as well.

Thanks luvrv8, I may end up going that route, I haven't talked to the guy who does stuff like this for me yet. Sometimes it can be hard trying to get folks to do machine work on custom stuff, I'm sure everyone has been there. Did you ever hear back from the guy with the v8 stuff? I wasn't trying to jump ahead of you on that deal, I was typing my response while you were posting yours-I'm hate typing.
