I want to introduce y'all to a lady who some of you might already know. Her name is Kim Komando. She's married and has a small boy. She does a radio talk show out of Phoenix, Arizona. It's all about computers. I get her newsletter and other e-mails sent to me daily. I encourage anyone who wants to improve on their computer skills to check out http://komando.com and sign up for her free newsletters.

I've never met her, but I sure would like to. I owe her a huge debt of gratitude for understanding a lot of the use of the computer. The first time I heard of her was when I checked out her book, The 50 Biggest Computer Mistakes from the Covington library.

I highly recommend you to her.

Not to brag or anything...but I personally own and operate (through my pc sales and repair business) a site at:

http://www.compuhelper.org

It is bascally a public self-help PC hardware and software site that is full of tutorials, tips, links to free helper programs, etc.

Although there aren't too many regular posters there constantly...it gets a ton of hits regularily...and me and my hired help check it daily.

You are all welcome to check it out, sign up, or just stick it in your favorites for future use.

Another site I would recommend is "The Elder Geek" at:

http://www.theeldergeek.com/

BTW...I didn't mean to hijack your thread...I just thought I'd toss out some more info for everyone.

Hey TumwaterTaz,

It's great that you put in your link!! Not a hijack at all, and I'm thrilled that you responded! More people should!! I haven't checked out your links yet, but I sure am going to as soon as I get off of the forum.

I already knew your were a computer man, and I love it! I hope to meet you some time. I recently rode to Chehalis with a friend who had a ticket and needed to go to court for it. I was fiddling with my Kodak all the way there and back. I tried to take a picture just to send to you to let you know I was around, but missed the sign except for the exit#. See:

By the way, did you look up Kim Komando?

It sure is weird to see so many familiar "local" sites while on the internet. My sister lives off of exit 99, my parents live off of exit 88 and I travel that section of I-5 a couple times a month. It's cool to see so many WA folks.

While I'm hi-jacking this thread, what do the user groups do? I joined the Washington one a few days back but I haven't noticed anything different.

Speaking fo that, fullaluv, I didn't see you as a member of that group.
