I watched the new pinks heads up race tonight. Too bad the Luv lost, it was a great looking truck.

Yeah. I Thought The Whole Camaro Getting Booted Was A Rip Off For The 2 or Three He Beat. Think The little Blue Luv Was One of Em...Can't Remember.

Nah, the 81 LUV got beat by the guy in the Grand National. The same dude that rolled thru the start line later on. I was glad to see a bunch of racing without all the whiny, crying, negotiating bull&%@% artist. I wonder what kind of motor was in the 61 Ford truck? I would have bet money that the Corvette would have put her on the trailer early.

It was an injected big block Ford. She got in a total of 6 passes in which there were 2 breakdown bye runs and 2 redlights. I'm sure a lot of folks will knock her but that's racing. Her final run she ran a 10.02 so the vette would have to have been cooking. If they had one of these closer to me I would be in!

Who knows? Maybe someday they'll try that or maybe the final drivers will voluntarily put up the 1000 bucks and their pink slips?

A lot of people showed up to race knowing that they'll be leaving with their vehicles. I still think it was cool to see a shitload of people happy as hell even though they didn't win. It was a positive to the sport. If someone tuned in to a regular episode of Pinks, they'd might get the idea that all home grown racing involves bitching and moaning.
I got to hand it to those of the show that came up with this "all out" idea.
The next one is going to be in Arizona and i'll bet you'll see some of the same crews and even more racers involved because they'll want to get in on the action.
I think of it as 'American Idol" for racers. The concept is the same. If you cant cut it, you're going home. How many of us watching that show entertained the thought that they could do the exact same thing?

i can't stand that pinks show. if they aren't whining about how their car is broke, it's 'give me a half track this' or 'i'll run you if you are motor only that.' god it annoys me. i appreciate the idea, it's cool. it would've been even better if they had controlled the girly bitch fest between races. it's like watching a cat fight. next time i hear the word 'motor' in reference to an engine, or "naaaawsss" i'm gonna throw a hammer through the tv. sorry if i offend anybody. i just had to get that off my chest. this a great board. i'd hate to get banned.

I thought the whining was normal. That's all I hear in the pits at every track I've ever been to. At least on pinks it isn't rated R. 8O

Yea, It's like Affermative Action racing. "I'm an underprivilaged racer and i want certian conciderations". I need half the track to compete with an actual car so i can take it from them.
I can see when they first tried to put the show together, they had problems lining up equally built vehicles. But when the racers aren't up front with what they have, that's when it becomes a pool hall hustle.
But i find myself glued to the tv when the show comes on. I have changed the channel if it's a rerun and that episode is a crap fest.
I used to think bracket racing was a load. At least there, you stand a better chance of screwing yourself.

.. yeah, good point. i'm just the type that you run what you brung. you know heads up? if i win it's all good. if i lose, then what didn't i do right? then again i don't street race and i don't drag race for money. i guess i'm weird. you're totally right on the equally matched cars. when it comes to street-type racing you need boots and a poncho just to watch. there is a LOT of b.s. being thrown around, and small children shouldn't hear the horsetrader talk either.

Yeah, Totally

Its Like Saying Hey Let Me Race My Yugo Against Your Top Fuel Dragster. And You Give Me A 1318 FT Head Start, and The First One To The 1320 Ft Mark Wins!

I Under Stand The Aspect That It Boils Down To The Driver and The Consistency Of The Car. Yeah Thats Cool and All.

I However Prefer Heads Up Run What You Brung. Either From A Dead Stop or A Selected Roll. It Is Just The Way To Go.

I Liked The All Out Program, Wished They Was More Racing Really. But Still Every Time Pinks Is On I To Shall Be Fixed In on The Screen As Well.

That's why I don't bracket race. I like to line em up and either put it on on get in put on, though I'll admit I'm not fond of the last one. On the test and tune nights I line up against whoever is in the next lane or make a single if no one is there. No whining, no excuses.

I always liked the "We just got done building the car last night" So?! Thats supposed to justifie the other guy giving you a break because youre an idiot?! If youre going to go through the process at least have the car done so you know what youre bringing. Does anybody know if theyre keeping this "All Out" format or are they gonna go back to the first one for next season? "All Out" is closer to bracket racing but Ill take that over the pissing matches anyday.

I can only image the logistics required by the production company to make a weekly show AND do a special ALL OUT episode. The basic concept of the show is lose the race, lose your ride so the show has to go on as normal. They'd have to change the name of the show also from Pinks to something that referres to a bracket race shootout.
The ALL OUT concept brings racing viewers a taste of what it's like to win on tv without major concequences. Aparently the ALL OUT concept was a big success because they're promoting the next one on their website.

The ALL OUT are occasional specials. The weekly whinefests are still the norm. I'd like to see a 16 or 32 car field run whatcha brung heads up show. That would be a "special".

I like watching Pinks also but the Pinks allout was the best. I don't like all that whining and negotation stuff. They had a taping of Pinks at Heartland Park Topeka in October. I was there 2 weeks before that racing at the NHRA division finals and had a blast.
