4 years later and I finally got my truck running and now the next step is setting up the suspension. I was looking at these traction bars from summit but there for an s10. I know the 2 trucks are alike but i was wondering if these would work on the rearend of my luv. Does any one know if these would work. My other question is about the sway bars. I thought i remember seeing a thread on here about it but i couldt find it. Anyone know if there is a kit i can get that will work on the luv. I was thinking about going to a junk yard and maybe pulling the back sway bar off of a Jimmy or blazer and seeing if it would work but i dont want to get stuck with parts i cant use. Here is the link i looking at the traction bars on. Any help is greatly appreciated. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetai ... toview=sku

The only rear swaybar set up I have ever seen I sold to Roadshow Bob. I would guess at one time they were sold but not easy to find anymore.

They are not exactly the same thing. As the names say:

Traction Bar: to increase traction, straight line

Sway bar: To keep body-chassis roll down-less.

Most all modern cars-trucks have sway bars, traction bars are a drag racing thing.

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

Hey thanks. So no one knows if those traction bars will work huh. I know what the two things do but i do want to get the rear end to hook up and stop the wheel hop and i do want to stop the body roll. I almost flipped my Dodge Dakota one night because the body roll was so bad and i sure dont want to flip the luv after putting about 8 grand into it so i need to find some sway bars. As far as traction bars go what is good set that will work. I dont really want to go with a set of cheepos.

Luvprogress, do a search on the site, If memory serves me correct Ben had measurements here on a set he made. I know Ben has ran them with slicks at a track with no problems. Ben does run a pretty stout small block and 9 inch.

How do those traction bars work. The truck is gonna be mainly for street but i might take it to the strip every now and then so i guess i dont need to go overbored on hte traction bars. Still does any one know about the sway bars? Will they help allot. I dont know how the truck is really gonna handle. I took it around the block for the first time the other day just for a minute so i didnt really get the full effect on how its gonna ride.

You might want to PM Ben, I thought I remember he had all of the answers to the questions you have, Like I said his truck has good power and a shot of NOS on top of that, and if my memory servers me correct his 60 foot times were good.
