Hey all,
I just got a couple front brake rotors for my 79 2WD from ebay. They were not the same though. one was correct with the min thickness of 16.6 mm inscribed on the hub but the other says min thickness 11.1 mm and it is a bit wider in diameter (besides being a lot thinner). It has 6 lug nut holes. anyone know what it might fit on???

rock on!

Hey redluv,
I am not sure what a vented rotor would look like, is that the ones with holes drilled through them? It doesn't have the vent holes, but I figured out what it is for. Someone was selling the same part on ebay (same part number and manufacturer):

10.25 INCH DIAMETER

Part#: 8-94224-172-0
Manufacturer: MOUNTAIN
Part Type: FRONT BRAKE ROTOR

CHEVROLET LUV 1981-1982
1982 L4-1817cc 1.8L 1 BBL Vin N
1982 L4-2238cc 2.2L Diesel Vin S
1981 L4-1817cc 1.8L 1 BBL Vin N
1981 L4-2238cc 2.2L Diesel Vin S

ISUZU P'UP 1981-1983
1983 L4-1949cc 1.9L 2 BBL Vin G200Z
1983 L4-2238cc 2.2L Diesel Vin C223
1982 L4-1817cc 1.8L 2 BBL Vin G180Z
1982 L4-2238cc 2.2L Diesel Vin C223
1981 L4-1817cc 1.8L 2 BBL Vin G180Z
1981 L4-2238cc 2.2L Diesel Vin C223

The guy that sent it to me said to keep it. It won't fit my 79, so I am about to post it to the classifieds for whoever can use it. rock on!

Dottie

Vented would have basically flat areas for the pads to hit(inner and outer) connected by thin strips of metal. So if you look at the end it would look like a vent. The ones that you are talking about (holes drilled in them) are referred to cross drilled.
