So I got this luv off ebay for 140 with a v8. Got it to run and drive it around the yard. So Is it worth like $100 to bring the title up to date and all the other to insure it and licence it or how hard can I drive it on a stock rear end. I've seen alot of talk about rearends but really dont want to change it out. Its a buick 350 with a two bbl carb and an auto trans. Just wondering if almost everyone who goes with a v8 changes the rear too. Cause Im the guy who likes to drive it like I stole it

The V8 luvs my friends and I have had with the stock rears have lived on street tires for a good while. When you put some sticky tires on em though... As far as being worth a $100 bucks to title it, are you having fun with it now? If it was me, I'd title it and drive it like I stole it. If it breaks, you still have a good parts truck. I'm sure it would hold up until you got your $100 worth. Have fun.

As long as you don't do much work trying to get it to hook up better it should be fine. Cheap tires and no traction aids, the stock rear should hold up pretty much fine letting the tires spin. Well, I should say tire, since you'll be doing one legged burn offs.

When i built my truck the first time i ran a nasty little 283 4spd set up with the stock rear end and had no problems at all.Drive it like it is until you want to go allot quicker then worry about the rear end. Here is something you will like the 350 Buick is a the torq king and the lightest of the small blocks (75lbs lighter than a small block chev.) will rev to the moon and get better gas milage then the other too.If the engine was installed correctly then i suggest that you build on that platform and enjoy all the fun it will bring. There are plenty of speed and hop up parts for the small Buick and being 75lbs lighter on the nose of the truck is most deffinetly a big plus. Injoy you ride and keep on trucking. 8) 8) 8) 8)

so ya, a buddy of mine came over today and we got the gas line hooked up and went for a drive on the gravels cause it aint insured yet. We went went a few miles and went back home and decided that it was good and warmed up and we needed to do some burnouts. well, after about 5 or 6 one of us would lift up on the back of the truck to make it a little more interesting. Did a few of those and then it happened, in the middle of a real nice one, just a loud "snap" and the wheels stop moving. My buddy pokes his head out the window and goes "I think i broked your toy!" So anyway now i guess i get to call around to some junk yards and try to find a new rear end. I was thinking about an s-10, sound good or not? Keeping in mind this is a beer budget project.
