I need some help with a 1980 chevy luv carburator. I just tried rebuilding it and just got it put into my truck and now it makes a hissing sound and the truck turns off at idle. Also when you rev up the engine it shakes really bad. Before I rebuilt it, it stalled out when I stopped, only when the engine was warmed up. When it was cold it was fine. I need some assistance, if anyone has any advice, I would appreciate it. :D

Sounds like you have an air leak. Try loosening the carb to manifold bolts and tighten them again. Be sure to run each one up lightly before you tighten them. If that doesn't do it look for a gasket to have slipped out or pinched on the carb body.

If it runs good only when cold, when presumably the choke is closed, then it's either getting too little fuel or too much air like the man said. The fuel/air mixture is screwed up. Probably an vacuum leak allowing air to leak into the mixture. Spray wd40 around the base of the carb. IF the engine speeds up, you've temporily plugged the leak where you are spraying.
