I went to the local Carquest parts store to get a replacement housing. The one i got on the truck right now will not seal. It will spring a leak from time to time as most of these types of housings will. Their books show about 8 or 9 different p/n's for different applications and for 252 V-6 motor years that weren't even available. I have always assumed that they would all be the same. Does anyone know of a good p/n to get a housing?

I found a replacement thermostat housing for the Buick V-6! NAPA / Balkamp p/n 605-1128. It's a direct replacement that has a thicker mount flange. The snorkel is a little shorter but it wont be a problem. The water neck spout points a little more of an upward angle but that shouldn't be a problem either. The cost was 17.00

Here's a couple of pics to see the old one and the new one.
To those who think this isn't a big deal, ask someone with a Buick motor and he'll tell you different.
