So i decided to go exploring tonight. I ended up driving down about 10miles of dirt roads up into the hills. It was perty cool. Then i started seeing No Trespassing signs. Well deciding i didnt want to get into a gun fight with some crazy guy in the middle of nothingness roughly 50miles south of Spokane i go to turn around. This is when the fun starts. My trusty LUV will not go into reverse. So i start trying to grab another gear troublshooting the problem. It goes into every gear hard. So I go to investigate, it seems that my clutch pedal broke a weld that holds it to the dash and so its just kinda bending the shaft the pedal mounts on and generally not functioning correctly. So whats a guy to do? Bailing wire and duct tape, yup thats right, i tie wired that clutch pedal back together and added some duct tape for good measure. It held alright, tomarrow i guess ill be welding some stuff...

I love those nights where that happens ! The same night my first LUV did that to me, it sucked part of the intake gasket too, so I was runnin all screwed up at the same time as not being able to shift well at all ! I am glad you had the right stuff to patch it up while you were out there, and good luck with your welds man !

What a wuss. Mine did that 200 miles from home at a vacation resort. I just drove it shifting by feel for 30 miles till I got where I was going. If you have to stop, just start it up in gear and hang on!

The fun part of my clutch pedal breaking was when I got more than a couple of strange looks pulling that pedal bracket out in the country club parking lot, right across from the 5th hole tee. I got an in-law to drive me over to a shop where I could borrow their welder, zipped it back together right quick like, slapped it back on in the parking lot, and it is still holding together today.

Man you have no idea how big my tool box is that i carry in my truck.
As far as being a wuss, this happened in my 82 F150, wile climbing a hill in 2 feet of snow. The engine stalled and i couldnt get it out of gear. The solution, my buddy allan gave it hell in his suburban and rear ended my truck hard enough for it to shift forward so i could pop it out of gear. Then i had to torque shift it back down the ice covered dirt road. Beat that 800!

i remember when lee got his 78 the clutch pedal had been broken. the people then put a pedal on there that was so long. that and they put it on atthe wrong angle, so you basically had to put you knee out the window to push in the clutch!
