i'd like to put solid axles in front. would anybody have some tips for me?

I don't know much about the process but a Toyota front axle was widely used around here in the past

the most common is to use either a Toyota axle out of a 79-85 Pickup/4Runner, or a D44 out of a Jeep Wagoneer. as far as what all you need to install it check out the Isuzu section of this site
