Hey guys I have a 1975 Luv and just puschesed a 1982 Luv for very cheap and realizef that it has front disc brakes. Will they fit on my 75??? I originally purchased the truck for the rear end. The truck is a 5 speed deasil and figured it would have a more drivable gear then the 4.56 that I have. Does anyone have anyu idea what gear ratio the diesel truck might have? Any help would be great. Thanx!!!

those disc wont fit your truck you can only go to 79 i believe with the disc brake swap so look for a 76-79. OR just make some brackets that look like the stock caliper brackets.

I dont see why 82 wont fit. Ive got ventilated 86 here and they wil fit straight on.

If the lower balljoint points down and the vehicle was made by Isuzu the spindle will be the same height.

The Luv in the last body shape became the PUP. The luv and the Pup share the same design chassis. about 84 or so they changed the way the lower suspension arm mounts to the cross memeber but thats about it. The spindles are the same height and the balljoints point the same way.

I would suggest that if youve got the parts truck there, go have a look and compare the two.

Swapping to discs is a bit more involved than just bolting them on. You need to swap the rear wheel cylinders for ones suitable for disc brake setup (smaller bore if my memory is right). Id swap to the later alloy master cyl if its still in good conditon. Also you need to fit the proportioning valve off the donor vehicle into the Luv, this will stop the rear wheels locking up first under hard braking.

Im not sure about the 5 speed Diesel but the 4 speed was meant to be a 4.111 diff if behind a C223 2.2L.

Swap the whole diff in, that way the rear brakes are right for duty with the discs on the front.

Cheers, Bob.
