Alrighty now im looking to redo my heater hoses and just rout them direct to the heater core using universal hose. My big question regards the intake. On the under side of the intake there is a metal T that has a hose clamped to either side. Its a little forward of the starter on the bottom of the intake. Now my question is this, does that T go into the water jaket of the intake or is it just a support? Im trying to see if i can just run one hose from the front of the head to the heater core and not run anything beneath the intake. So if that T does go into the water jacket would it be bad to just cap it off? Thanks for the help guys.

It does tie into the intake's cooling jacket. There is a tiny passthru hole in the intake right above it that goes into the head actually. I'm sure there was some reason Isuzu put it there, but I doubt it would make any difference if you cut and capped it.

It is also connected to the return (or supply) hose on the top of the manifold, directly above it.

The two heater hoses and the bypass hose are all connected there at the manifold.
I looked at a loose manifold I have.

The Tee peice is the bypass.

The hose that goes into the front of the motor is the return from the heater. The water pump sucks thru that hose, hence the small diameter connection into the inlet manifolds water tract alows it to suck some water while the heater tap is shut.

the system could probably do without it but im sure its there for good reason.

Ive done the reco of all that gear i will post up the how to.

Now that I am thinking, and having read Rodeobob's other post, it would be a good idea to keep that sucker in there. On a cold startup, that little fitting into the tee lets a bit of water circulate through the block and head. Without it there, the thermostat would take longer to see hot water from the block and open up.

Cavitation in the water pump would also be a bad thing. I don't know how tolerant the LUV's water pump is, but in many pump designs once they start to cavitate they won't clear it and basically cease to move water. I hadn't really thought of it before rodeobob brought it up, but it is an excellent point.

Well thanks for the insight guys. I managed to get bulk heater hose to work in the factory routing so its realy a non issue. But thanks anyway!
