alrighty timmy, heres what you do. Pull off the inspection part thingy of the timing belt cover (it should have a little top that pops off like your pup) then crank the engine over. If it flopps like a dead fish your a no go... :lol:
Why not drive the pup? I would trust that better anyway. Oh and sorry the Poncho isnt running well enough for the highway yet 8)

The damn thing is getting repaired today. We aren't driving to Phoenix, but it just came at a crappy time. All is well though. It doesn't look like anything other than the belt is broken. But, now that I am thinking about it, is my '90 pup an interfering engine, or a non-interfering?

It's safest to just change those belts every 50 or 60 thousand miles as a preventative thing.

I checked mine out about 2 months ago and it still looked good, but I think I might change it anyways here early next month.

Dillon, when are you coming in to town? I might still need some help with the valves, and I need to spend some quality time tearing down a vehicle. You are still planning on tearing down the poncho right? Oh, and there is a ska concert on the 9th if you are going to be around by then...
