First of, if the idiot that built my luvette would have knew what he was doing i'd already know this, but since he didnt I gotta ask.

1. Did the 80 LUV come with a cat. converter?
2. What are the wires sticking out of my t-case and 4 speed transmission?,Speedometer and RPM wires?

3. If so where can I get the guages, and wiring I need to hook these up?

My '76 had a catalytic convertor so I assume an '80 would. Of course, back then it also depended upon what State your vehicle was intented for.

well unless its a cali. truck it wont have a cat. My 80 just had the air pump on it. The wires out of the tranny are for your back-up. On the t-case its your 4x4 light. Im perty shure the speedo cable goes to the rear end. Ill look up in my service amnuals next time i have a chance.

My 75 is not a cali truck and it had a cat. Here in Oklahoma anything 79 and newer has to have the cat and we're pretty easy on the emissions stuff.

the speedo cable should go into the tranny on the driver side close to the rear......

My 80 does not have a catalitic converter on it. The label under the hood said "NON CATALIST".
Funny thing is the GOODYEAR Dealer would not pass it for inspection because it didn't have a converter on it.

Pre-1984 vehicles in TX do not require a cat conv. Just in case anyone needs to know.
