Meep, Doing the work to the Isuzu 3.2 is pretty easy really, just a matter of swaping heads off of a DOHC engine(I'm talking about the older 3.2's, from 92-97) But that does bring up an interesting point, why not go with a newer motor (98-04) and slap a Alpine SC on top of that, the 3.5 makes 215hp and 230tq stock, the Alpine is good for an extra 50hp or so with the smaller pulley. Something to think about

TJ I haven't ruled out the 305 100% yet so it may still be a posibility, I really don't like the idea of having to hack up the fire wall to get it to fit, that and I don't know if I'd have enough croom to clear the front axle even with a 3" BL adding room (once I do the SAS it'll be a moot point but I kinda want to do the engine first, but we'll see)

Oh well we'll see, I've still have a lot of research to do before I decide. in the mean time I have a 4ZE1 stitting around waiting for me to rebuild it

Let me throw something out here. I used to own a 98 Amigo, not sure of the motor size but is was a 4 cyl with duel cams. That with the 5 speed it ran great. Great top end, it picked up speed great, nice all around package, and reliable as hell with low 30's for gas mileage.

I ran a 283 4spd in my truck when i first built it and didn't have to do anything to the firewall ( use a short water pump) i used a nissan radiator hooked up the heater the only pain was cutting out the park brake asy. and putting a pinto brake lever on the tunnel.Hell i even used the ram horn style exhaust manifolds and a set of header syle side pipes.

TJ, I'll keep that in mind, still not sold out yet on going with a V6, but I will keep that in mind.

Carl, that engine would be a 2.2 made by Hyundia (sp?), a 4 banger would be the way to go, small, good on gas and so forth, but I've already decided that I want a bit more power then the 4-banger has to offer, I mean even Meep's motor is making more power then the 2.2(rated stock at 130hp and 150+tq) thanks for the idea though

I'll keep yall updated on the progress

well if you go with a v8 since you have a 4x4 I`m almost positive you will have to go with a straight front axle to do it. then your gonna have to account for that work.
