I know this goes in the 4x4 section but I thought I'd get a quicker responce if I posted here. Will a 81 luv 4x4 rearend be the same as a 80 4x4? same gears and brakes? mounting locations? Thanks. Christopher

well in short... i think so. those years have the same gear ratio and i don't think the mounting hardware ever changed. check this post http://forums.luvtruck.com/viewtopic.php?t=11013

Gear ratio and mounting should be the same, but the brakes are different. They changed the rear brake shoes around some in 81. That should not prevent you from using it though, just have to remember to buy brake shoes/parts for an 81 if you ever do the brakes on it. The only thing I'm not totally sure of is if the e-brake cables would be the same, but I am thinking that they'd fit.
