Nice Lic Plate. Just some history on the Ca plate luv r v8. My brother in law bought a new LUV in 1977, he small blocked it about 78 or 79 at that time he ran the plate LUV R V8 until he sold it around 87 or so. His was yellow and had a snug top on it with a walk through, so the rear of the cab was cut. So, when I joined the site, I used that name due to the fact that I have a V-8 LUV and his LUV is what got me into the mini-truck scene. That black LUV does take me back to the day when the mini truck scene was hot. Thanks for the memories. He must have got that plate after my brother in law got rid of it.

Blue and yellow plates ended in 85 or 86, so those very well could be the same plates , just moved from one LUV to another. This guy might know of your brother in law's old 77.

Geez, didnt we all have Toronados or Baby Toronado side mirrors!

I will say that the old So-Cal mini truck scene was Hot back then, I used to belong to a club here and we did all those 3 day weekend scenes at the regional parks.
Back then those weekends were full on show and shines and lots of women and beer; uhh...and other stuff too

I wish I had all my pics from all of that time, Ma-Tar-Awa park, Glen Helen, Hesperia, and on and on!

I remember seeing lots of Luvs back then and it was about 50/50 on V8s vs modified 4 bangers...

Great pics
