Try this,2500rpm on start up for 20-30 min. then idle the engine down shut it off then dump the oil and filter. Use a clean drain pan for the oil and you wont like what you see. I change the oil in anew race motor 4 times before it goes out the door, street motors at least 3 times. Some people may think this is excessive but i haven't blowen one up yet.The break in is for the cam and lifters the metal that you will see in the oil is from the cyl. walls.Heres ith point OIL AND FILTERS ARE CHEAP ENGINES ARE NOT :) :) :)

The reason for reving the motor up to 2500 for twenty minutes is so the crankshaft will help lubricate the cam by slinging oil on it and helping flush the metal from breakin away. The oil pressure from the pump will also be higher. Keep us posted on the progress, as I am at about the same point in my conversion you are. :D
