 Post subject: putting 4.3 into LUV

ok, is there anyway to hook a 4.3 up to the LUV 4 speed tranny?

dont know about the tranny, but that is my v6 of choice.

the only reason that I did not go with the 4.3Li. v-6 is because of the lack of performance parts other than GM performance. The Buick seems to have more access to after market parts.

if you will whant more cost efective parts (ie not just gm) i would probly go whith the 3.8 buick, theres more parts for it.

This is the swap I've always wanted to do and spent alot of time thinking about it. In "theory" I think I have figured out the way to do this. First find yourself a chevy astro,(GMC safari) van w/ all wheel drive. (My wifes is a '90 and has a 4.3L in it) Pull motor and axles, (it has independent front just like the luv.) Next pick up an S-10 5-speed tranny and transfer case. I know that driveshafts would have to be fabbed and the axles would have to be shortened so this would just be a, cough....cough weekend project and a simple bolt in. :roll: Then again you could always find an S-10 blazer and bolt your luv body on it.

I was thinking mor elike, a turbo 400 transmission bolted to the 4.3 with a divorced t-case,
