i recently aquired a weber carb dgev and i mounted it on but some stuff is strange and i need to know what i need first off its a 78 with the turbo hydromatic 200 and on the hitachi carb there is a bracket for the downshift cable close to the firewall but on the weber there is no way to hook it up so what do i do and should there have been a specific type of bracket or weber carb i should have gotten

second off i have no throttle return spring or bracket so i jimmy rigged one up and it works fine the carb runs great but on the carb there is a small white thing underneath the carb that i believe attaches to the valve blow off by a hose is that correct

any pictures or detailed info would be most greatly apreciated

thankyou from a very concerned and mostly lost newbie

Most of us stock motor guys with Webers don't have an auto tranny to deal with. My suggestion would be see if you can swap the parts for the kickdown cable off the stocker carb onto the weber. I know you can pull some of the linkage the throttle cable hooks to and swap it across but I don't know about the little bit where the kickdown cable hooks up.

The second question, well I don't quite know what you are talking to. If you don't have the bracket sticking out under the intake for a return spring, just hook something to the fender. The Weber I have has a spring on the thottle shaft and seems to return just fine without one though.

The rest of that question I don't get what you're talking about. You could mean the EGR valve, the back pressure transducer, some other vac line hookup, or the little dash pot deal they put on trucks with A/C. Its been a while since I've seen a new weber too, nothing is white on the one I've got, its all dirty. :)

I had the same problem with the kickdown and the weber. I wanted to make a stock linkage work with it, but I finally solved the problem completely by swapping a v8 :D

I did drive the truck without the cable hooked up. You just have to mess with it and make sure its in the position it likes or it won't shift right.

Not sure about the small white thing???

yeah, youll prolly have to run without it. like diarmadhim said youll have to set it so it work right, and then when you wanna shift down, youll have to do it with the shifter manually.
