IN THE PUP!!! LMAO!! the pup is a low 19s truck!! i was sposed to race the oldsmobile, but i coulndy get it to stop leaking oil, so i raced the pup! i even won one of my elimination races!!

i got 4 runs in with it. 1st run i wan a 19.2 at 71mph.

the second run was kinda wierd. when we went to stage the other person staged deep, and was automatically knocked out. so i do my run. i just cruised it though. the thing was about the run, the tree was set on the pro tree setting, which doesnt let you stage deep, like a regular tree.

so they call me and the other person back up to the starting line so we could have a ligit race. this run i pulled a 19.4 at 70 and won! the other person broke out by 4 tenths.

my fourth run was against a BMW roadster thing, and i lost. i think i ran a 19.5 at 70 on that one.

all in all i had a hell of a time! but with fun, comes with non-fun. i am pretty sure i broke some teeth off of the ring or pinion in the rearend. every once and while itll make a chunky sound when i take off. so i think ill prolly have to knab the rearend outta ezekiels truck if mine takes a dump! lol

well i think the rearend will be fine for a while (i hope). i really need to adjust my rockers now though. 4 passes down the strip hittin 5000 in 1st 2nd and 3rd make em just that bit more tickity. 8O so im gonna adjust those later on. the stupid idle mixture screw on the carb keeps backing out too. i need to put some goop or something in there to keep it from doin that.

i wanna go race it again now though!! it was really fun! i was runnin pretty consistantly too!! lol

Well i went out wensday here in Baytown and the guy at the gate says all in or just watching. I say wat the hell, all in. I really had no intention of running it, but I tech the powerstroke in and pull up to make my first pass and they won't let me run because I don't have long pants. What a bummer. So i'm watching the bracket racing and all the test and tune guys and they get to the semi's and a guy in a dodge cummins is still in. I still had fun and didn't tear anything up. Really wanting the motor to be finished now.

haha it was funny watching you race.. the one pass, where the guy staged deep, you went down the track kinda slow and calm and a huge grin on your face!!

the drags were hella fun yesterday!

well my suspisions were true! the rearend in the pup is finally going out after 222458 miles.

the rearend makes alot of clinky and clunky sounds now, and the occasional takeoff where it catches the missing teeth.

so, as always, i have it runnig good for about 2 weeks and then stuff starts goin wrong again.

does anyone know what gear ration a 77 2wd luv had in the rearend? thats all i have right now to fix the problem, and im hopin it aint gonna be 456s in it :? .

oh, i figured out why it was running goofy. the idle mixture screw had backed itself out like 5 turns past where it was sopsed to be. so i reset that and it runs great. so it wasnt the rockers that were making it run funny.

well it wasnt the carb afterall. i was listening to the motor and the rockers are tappin like a crazy guy. i dont think theyve evern been adjusted before. i think the motor still has the stock valve cover gasket on it, so im gonna adjust those tommorow. ill prolly swap the rearend too.

if those valves havent been adjusted, i realy hope they arent burned.
As for my trucks 1/4, i did a little thingy with my GPS on I-5. I stopped on the shoulder than gave her hell and had my GPS freeze everything at .25miles. And the ameture results are...
16.9 @80.2mph. Whith a vehicle weight of 3,000lbs (i still had all my 4x4ing stuff in there) that means my truck is truck making about 125hp at the wheels. Not too shabby 8)

"im faster than farmer joe" eh? lol

thats good stuff right there.

its kinda funny. the first run that i did at the track last friday was againt TRs 4x4 luv. i ran the 19.2 and he ran a 21.4. so im faster than him.

so now that hes been beaten on the 1/4, hes doin everything he can so that he can be faster than me. lol hes running the 1.8 with a motorcraft weber, stock cam and he has a header with a full 2.5 exhaust. im just running a 32/32 weber, with a stock cam, and a manifold and stock exhaust. i still have a catalytic converter on my truck!! if i get a header with a decent sized exhaust system, id have a decent amount more of power.

but anyways, being the ight owl that i am, i got bored and pulled the pup in the garage and set all the lashes on the rockers. boy were they loose! but now theyre all adjusted, and the carb re-retuned, and this thing is runnin like a top!

im coming for ya dillon!!! lol
