I found the perfect engine for the 48. Ill give you a hint, its still a BPO engine, still a flat head. Its not a v-8 and has more than 6 cylinders...

I am pretty sure Buicks straight 8 design was an overhead valve engine as was Pontiacs, not a flathead, don't quote me though.

there wwere early versions in flathead. Most of the stright eughts that you see are the 268 OHV I-8s. As far as the comment on manufactueres i stated its a BPO (Buick Pontiac Oldsmbile). But anyway it wont work in my car  The hoods on the flathead six cars is shorter. So i guess ill have to look for a sherman tank caddy flathead fo an awsome and rediculouse engine...

Theres a company out here that took a 292 inline six, custom fabbed a set of Pro Topline V8 heads into one, put a big turbo on and is getting over 1000 Horses...

Check it out, it's hot...

Well if i were going to put an OHV engine in this i would run a Big Block Cad. But im kinda stuck on keeping this a traditional car. Even in the traditional hot rodding scenes people arent realy staying that traditional in my eyes. Its all gone to air bags and SBCs. Now 283s i can understand becouse everyone was swaping those in place of flatheads to out run the fuzz. But the 350 is too late a motor in my eyes. Then theres air bags, that is WAY too high tech and WAY too much money for what a hot rodder would have done. So when i do my build, its going to have a flathead, blocks in the rear and collapsed coils up front. Call me sick or what ever but i think even the people who call themselves traditional are getting away from the point...

And this is why you drive a KB, so that way your holding true to the "tradition" of wheeling with IFS   that made no sense whatsoever did it???

well what you shoould do for a motor is build yourself a nice little chevy 301. 125over 238 block with a stock crank. slap some 12:1s in it with some double camel humps and a solid lifter cam. that there would be a screamer!! but that would kinda suck in that big car. no bottom end torque to get the damn thing movin
