And the first thing I need is the motor mounts for the SBC. I remember reading that there was a company that manufactures them but couldn't find it when I searched for it. If someone could give me the URL or phone number so I can order them it would be greatly appreciated.

I also have a couple other questions. What automatic transmission matches up better with the Luv truck and a SBC? I thougth I'd just grab a 700r4 out of the yard, but maybe the 200r4 would fit in the tranny tunnel better. Anyone have any experience with this.

Also is the compay that manufactured the stepside box for the Luv still in business? Anyone still making the fiberglass parts for Luv? Anyone got anything like this for sale?

when you say motor mounts, i assume you mean the mounts to adapt to the SBC. Hooker makes those and you can find them at http://www.holley.com/Types.asp?type=457

the Hooker mounts are setup to use a TH350. But others on here have used 700R4's and 200R4's. So it's more a preference thing.

the company that made the stepside beds is no olnger in that business. ctmandu can answer just about any question you have one stepsides and fiberglass parts.

you best bet for motor mounts would be the hooker kit. as for the tranny, id go for the 2004r, cuz its the same length as the th350 but its a 4 speed overdrive.

Thank you all very much for the information. I will check out the mounts and the headers.

I'm not acutally new to the site. I have been around the site for several years, but apparently have not logged in for awhile as my old ID did not work. So I had to re-register today.

Regardless, I'm very thankful to each of you for your help and for the site and it's help. My 78 Luv that's getting the SBC conversion is the first vehicle I ever owned. I'm looking forward to getting the truck freshened up and juiced up. Thanks again for all your help.
