i found a 84 with everything in it at the junk yard today. it has the FI set up and everything. dont they have the exact motor as the luv? and if they do will it bolt right in to the existing motor mounts and tranny?

YES!!!! it will have the G200 motor

If you can grab the whole freaking car and just swap the engine/tranny over to the Luv, you could also swap the 10 bolt third too as it more than likely has a LSD in it, good luck with all of it

Look for an option code tag on the firewall just above the motor. If it has G80 listed on it, it shipped with the LSD. From what I've seen, pretty much only the turbo Imps got the LSD, and 84 was pre-turbo. Still possible though as it was an option. It will have 3.90 gears in it, making it great as a freeway blaster. Oh yeah, get the 5 Spd out of it too if its there.

The motor mount bolt holes are the same on the block, but you'll need the actual mounts from a LUV to swap it in. The frame side is completely different. It might help to use the oil pan from a LUV too, but other than that everything should bolt up. If you want to swap in FI, getting the whole car would be a big help. Fuel pump, wiring harness, computer, and a lot of etc would be needed.

yeah the whole car is ther everything but i wanted to ask to make sure before i jumped out there. i hope its all there in a month or 2 because thats the only time i will be able to get it. but if its still there in a month im going to get it.
