Yes that's rite! Today I changed my gear oil in my rear end and when i pulled the drain plug the case was filled with water, and after the quart of water came out then came the oil'y mud. :? It was not cool. So I drained and filled it and Im going to drive it a few miles and then change it again and maybe that will drive out some of that moisture.?. Oh this dawm truck!

it might be a better idea to pull the third member out. Then hose the inside out whith some brake cleaner or something like that.

Another option would be to add some Seafoam to it. It would help pull the moisture out as well as help clean out the grunge. Check the breather cap on top of the diff housing, make sure it is still there. It is just a little plastic doodad that sticks up about a half inch. If it were broken off, road spray could have gotten in there. It should have a dust/water cap to keep the crud out. Might be time to look at hooking a hose up there and mounting it higher too. Run a hose up to the bed or frame someplace, or even clear up into the fuel tank expansion chamber cover (that plate in the bed behind the drivers side of the cab). It could also have taken on water during some deep crossing.

You should check the fluid in the trans and front diff too, good chance either or both of them are full of water/crap.

Seafoam is an oil/Fuel additive. It can be used as fuel cleaner, water remover, oil treatment, upper cylinder lube, top end cleaner, etc. It sells at almost any parts store and is really good stuff, I use it once a year to clean out the top end on my car. It's great. They also cam out with a new transmission treatment.[/b]

I have already changed out the tranny "oil" and everything was fine. I have not checked the front diff yet but after seeing this I am all over the front!!! I drained and filled it one more time today but even after changing it, it was all foamy and milky :!: . Mepr is rite I should just pull it and clean the sh!t out of it. I dont know, but I need to use it for work tommorow so I hope it will be alrite.

Have you been paying water taxi with that truck? I often have to drive over low water crossings that are well flooded. Had this same problem. finally found a broken seal on axel. Was letting stuff in anytime water was over top of axel. Big mess.
