was it always like that or is it possible someone lowered the front down to the bumpstops? If that's the case you can crank the torsion bars up and get it up. As for shocks try searching online from a parts store like napa, shucks/chucks/kragen...

Jack up the front of the truck with both wheels off of the ground. Then go underneath the truck and find the torsion bars that go from the lower a-arms back to the transmission crossmember. On the back side of the crossmember you'll see the adjustment levers and the adjuster bolt. Spray some WD-40 on the bolt threads and tighten up the bolts. Make sure you tighten both sides the same amount to keep them even. Either count the number of throws of the ratchet or measure the threads coming out of the adjuster arm. The amount of adjustment depends on the ride height you want.
Make sure the truck is off the ground because if you try and make adjustments with weight on the wheels, you'll most likely damage the threads of the adjuster bolts.

You can lower the truck by adjusting the torsion bars with the weight of the vehicle on the suspension.

Chances are the bolts arent in the same spot anyway.

Best thing is to wind it up high and then park it on a level hard surface and get out the tape measure.

Dont forget to bounce the suspension up and down and roll the truck backwards and forwads as your doing it to settle the suspension out as you lower it.

Bob.

You'll need to relax the tension on the torsion bars before you break the ball joints loose. But yes, it would be a smart thing to get your adjusters fixed before you rebuild the front end.
With those parts missing on the adjuster, the front end must have been bottomed out. Im glad to see that you're taking the wise approach and fixing things up right. Dont forget to repack the wheel bearings too while you're at it. You're going to grease the new parts after you get it rebuilt so greasing the bearings too will give you peace of mind.

Hit the local wrecking yards and find a wasted truck. Odds are that the hardware will still be intact. Parts that minimal could cost you nothing.

I'm in Buffalo, NY I have been to the yard, found one truck could not get under it if I wanted to. I have not seen a Luv up here in 10yrs or better.
They just rot away. I only need the half round part found the bolt in glove box.

The half moon part is the only piece that is threaded. Well the bolt too obviously, but you get what I mean. :)

It's not threaded. The half-moon is so the head of the bolt can have a square surface to ride against. The bolt angle changes as the ride height is adjusted. It wouldn't be a tough thing to make but you'll spend some time grinding. I still think it would be easiest to keep looking around for a trashed LUV and rob the parts.
But if you're pressed to get things going, make the part and replace it when you run across the real thing. Do your best not to deform the dished spot of the frame where the half-moon rides. Trying to readjust the torsion bars later on could become a problem.

Can you do me a favor and look all thru the cab of the truck to see if you can find the half-moon? It would really be a pisser if you had the part all this time.

Luv or Pickup or Trooper. Any Isuzu with a torsion bar front end should have that same bit.
