well, i took my friend from my Camaro/Firebird club out wheelin in the LUV today. we were doing great until we entered this one puddle (ok, mini pond) of water. i entered slow because i had already had crap with the points earlier in the day. about the middle of the pond she just shut down. so i figure i got the points wet, turn her over and for about 10-15 mins. of on and off cranking she dont fire once!!! finally we crank her in gear to get out of the puddle so we can get to dry ground and call the wife to come get us in the Blazer. so we get back in the Blazer, push it the rest of the way out of the puddle and start working on her. after checkin everything i finally figure out to check the fuses. sure enough the voltage regulator fuse was blown. so i replace it and VOILA!! she fired right up-but what was this? she was running like $H!T?!?!?so i happen to look at the new coil i bought at Schmucks and to my surprise and utter delight the sumgun was ARCING . so i dig for my old coil, find it, pop it on and the Luv Machine is back to normal!!! so we take 'er home and call it a night. but overall my friend is now a firm believer in the capabilities of the Luv!!!

O.K. if your going to build ya a sub ..heres what ya need. First you need to get ya a cauking gun with about 2 or 3 tubes of good water resistant silicone. Can usually find this at a hardware store. You want the kind that well set up like rubber when its dry.Now go over to the plumbing dept. and look for rubber pipe adapters..you know the kind that some people have under ther sinks. Now what that is for is your carb..the best way to get the correct size is to pull your air filter assembly off and take a piece of cardboard and set it on top of your carb, and lightly push flat down on it, it should leave a impresion on the cardboard...now that is the size of rubber fitting you are going to need to hook to your carb. Most of those rubber fittings have a screw clamp arounnd the base. If not you well need a clamp. Now this fitting has to be reduced on the top side.. i cant remember..i think it is like 5 or 6 on one end and then it reduces to about about 3 inches on the other end..which well be streight up on your carb.So what you see at this point is your carb with a rubber fitting that sets about 4 to 5 inches high off your carb and the top is smaller so that you can hook a hose to it. I went to a radiator shop and found a hose for an old pontiac that had the right bend and twist in it.I then mounted it from the carb end up and out of my hood next to the passinger side fire wall.Make sure ya get a hose long enough to go at least half way up the windshield frame. Then ask your girlfriend or wife ..which ever dosent matter!Hunny could i have a pair of your black pantyhose? Ya might get a strange look .. or maybe a threat of devorce...but this is important. Take and cut ya piece of pantyhose and wrap a piece around the end of the hose so that no debre or dirt gets back into your carb. Your snorkel is done fabricating at this point. Now ya remember that silicone you got? Take it and put ya a nice even bead around the rubber fitting on your carb, and around the dist. cap.. anything that looks like exposed electrical wire Zap it with some goo too. Now for the inside ... If you dont want to go home drenched make sure the rubber shift boots dont have any cracks in them. if there ok then Zap some goo around the base of them to water seal them. I remember the first time i hit a big waterhole the water was hitting the roof inside the cab. Not bad on a hot summer day. but i sealed them up good. On your floor board under your seat there should be 4 drain holes. Unscrew the little plates and toss them to the side. Go to a boat dealer and get ya some of those drain plugs that are rubber compresion., and put one in each hole. now you have removeable drain plugs. If you have a lifted body on your truck , go to the fire wall and look at your stearing shaft if ther is any gaps ...close them up with your goo.The most important part of a sub is that you want your engine to keep going...just make sure that the snorkel stays above water, and you sealed everything good, and that you have all your vacumes hooked up or pluged! If ya got anymore questions Just ask!O Yea i"ll try not to wright a book next time.P.S. It sounds difficult,,but it is simple and the looks you get from the massive 4x4s that cant do that.Ha its worth it.

There is a spray sealer you can buy that you cover your spark plugs and boots with, cause if water gets on them your stuck.....
