I had a spool in a Nova street car. I didn't care for it, front end trying to plow through the turns, back tires always quirping, dangerous on wet roads. I have a detriot in my Jeep, noisy, but as close to a spool as you can get and still have any street manners. I have limited slip in the power stroke, works good almost seamless. My wifes Trailblazer has g80 locker/ gov-loc also works good. Luv is getting a 31 spline trac-loc style posi. I'm hoping this will put power to both rear wheels.

damn thats cheap for a mini. I think they go for about 30-40 in a jegs catalog. U turns will turn into 3 pointers, no more wet weather driving, etc and then theres always that feeling that you may pull an axle out if you take a turn too fast. but other than that I've seen them cheap mini spools live on the street for 10 years plus in a 10bolt no less. I'd do it in a weekend warrior but would avoid it if possible in a car that will see any more than just saturday night street duty.

well since were on the topic of mini spools, i wasa think in about gettin one for a 7.5 gm rear in an olds. what all do you have to do to use the spool in that rear. i kinda figure you just replace the spider gears with the spool, but can you still use the stock carrier? im still perplexed by how im gonna do it.
