Took 4 months but the 80 luv is now officially tagged, insured and driving down the streets of Austell, GA. What an adventure it has been. When Painless wiring named themselves, they didn't ask me if it was painless. But, anyway, all that's left is the paint which I'll due in a few months.

Here's how the truck looked when I drug it home in November last year:

and here's it today:

Here's the wiring as it was in November:

and here's today:

and last but not least, here's the entire Luvster:

Seems like it took forever but now that I'm driving it, it doesn't seem like it took that long.

It's the original dash - I cut the you know what out of it so the dash cap would fit on it. I painted the vents to match the blue metal flake on the gauge panel which is the same color as the truck is going to be someday.

Yeap - a $40 remnant and I have enough left to put on the back of cab once I get the stereo system in.

Almost six grand. It's basically rebuilt from the ground up and everything is new pretty much. Really, I think about the only thing that's not new is the wiper motor.

The wiring kit is a Painless and you can get it alot of places. They're on line as well. Summit has it in their catalog. Mine is the GM set with all the wires for everything imaginable. The gauges are a Stewart Warner set and I got it from my local performance shop called Barnett Performance in Atlanta.

EZwiring has similar harnesses for less $$. I have kits from both and they seem to be of comparable quality.

A new truck for six grand ain't bad, especially if you have it the way you want it. The truck looks great.
