So i was talking to a guy i work with. We were chatting about new full sized trucks, he just bought a standard cab shortbox ram. I was saying how if i got one it would probly be a Nissan titan becouse i like to support American workers (theyre made in Cantton Mississippi if you didnt know). The guy i work with then says how stupid i am becouse those are "crappy jap trucks". Now granted they are having some issues with the rear axle they are still vary highly rated trucks, but thats not the point. He was saying that he will only buy a truck made in America by and American company and that even if Nissan makes em in the states im not supporting Americans. I then reply whith " its called Daimler Chrysler for a reason. Dodge and Chrysler are German owned now". I just love it when people dont know what the hell they are talking about

that arguement is so old anymore.

i dont mean to threadjack but heres some food for thought on the Titan....
I hang out with a lot of desert people. we tow our toy haulers out to the desert with our bikes and sand rails in them. We've found that Nissan Titan is highly overrated on its towing capacity. it is downright dangerous towing a trailer that is nowhere near the Titan's max 9600 towing capacity. I think Nissan really went to far with pushing that as their selling point (out tow chevy ford dodge). The Chevy and Fords tow over their capacity with no problems (although i dont recommend this). The titan is otherwise a pretty decent truck.

I, personally, am quite fond of the Toyota Tundras. Soon to be assembled just outside of San Antonio, in Somerset, Texas.

Hooray for supporting the local economy.

Yota used to make 1 ton pickups, they had a true dual rear but where small box trucks, not for hauling horse trailers full of horses and your favorate cow every now and again.... LOL

I realy dont like the idea of hybryd cars. They arent getting but 40mpg and you cant haul crap with em. Also theres the complexity and the stupid cost of replacing batteries every 100,000miles. Deisel mini trucks are what we should be driving i think. I mean LUVs with the C223 are supposed to get 35+mpg. And thats a 4x4 that will haul around 1400+lbs. Then if you whant to be Eco friendly, sepnd about $50 on viton fuel lines and run B99 through it. Then your getting great millage supporting American farmers and polluting less. Thats what i wish auto makes were spending money on making, not wasting it on hybryd technology...

Ok everyone can come out now, im off the soap box

That plant is about 90 miles from where I live... It's amazing.. the Nissan plant is literally bigger than the city that I live in, has more traffic lights than my city, and has more security guards on duty at any given time than my city has cops in total.
