The dash as it came out of the box, I did cut out for the gauges and glove

The top grill did take some modifing to install. What I did was get a old grill and drilled out the plastic nubs that the clips go on to make a pattern
Image

I then put my pattern over the new dash and drilled a 1/8 inch hole in the dash at each nub. Then I flipped the dash over and counter sunk a 3/8 hole, pushed in the good grill and was able to attatch the holders in.

Clean the metal to get it ready for adhesive

Put glue on metal and install new dash

Installed cluster, glovebox, and vents

Since the new dash was thicker, I had to trim down the top steering bezel to fit, this was done with a air die grinder with a sanding wheel on it

Now it is time to enjoy the final product, I am very happy with it. I do need to clean up the glove box door and cluster assembly, so I have something to do tomorrow.

The only thing I wish was different is I wish the radio area was a blank. I did not want to install a stereo, but now I will.

A shop in Los Angles wanted 800 to repair a old one, but I had to find a decent one for them to fix, this was the lesser of all of the evil's I could find.

you should think about painting your dash cluster now. the dash looks great but you can tell that the cluster is old. a can of spray paint should bring it back to black. ever think about white face gages? i know somone who makes the vinal decals that go ontop of the gages and it looks really good too.

I have plans of cleaning up the cluster and glove box this weekend. I have way too much money and time in this to even think about using a rattle can. There are products out there that will clean them up just fine. On Saturday it will be going over to a Detail/Reconditioning shop to finish the clean up.

with you throwing money around like that, it's no wonder you're so damned poor... j/k... anyway that looks sweet... i've been thinking of white faced gauges or going with some aftermarket stuff in mine.. it's kinda plain stock

I will try to have some vinal gage sets made up along with some luvtruck stickers. I will let you all know if i can have my friend make them. If so how many sets should I have printed? 10,20? let me talk to the man and see what i can do.
