Ok, so I started my luv after sitting for 2 days and it ran for about 10 seconds and then died and would not start back up. I checked the carb and it was dry so i pulled the fuel line off and sure enough it was dry. My right hand and arm are in a cast so i'm doing everything one handed. So i crawl under the truck to the fuel pump and use my test light on the hot wire for the fuel pump and it's dead. So i tried running a wire straight from the battery to the fuel pump just to see if that would fix it. The fuel pump is 12V right? Well anyways when i connected it it just made this loud clicking noise and still did not pump fuel. Since i only have one hand i can't really take things apart like i would like to so i thought i would ask for suggestions.

I think chavy has the right idea, look for a clog or problem upstream of the pump. It will click plenty loud if it is running dry.

You are sure you have gas in the tank right? Around here sitting for a couple days is more than long enough for some methhead to come along and suck the tank dry if you don't have a locking cap. I've run more than one off.

As for the wiring, the wire to the pump is only hot when the key is turned to start or the motor is running. Keep that in mind with your testing. I'd bet it works when you crank it over, but with the noise of the motor spinning over you can't tell.

Well I took the old pump off (it was a universal electric pump) and I bought a new one. The new one is more powerful, 4-7 psi, 32 gallons an hour. Had a friend come put it on for me and it started right up and runs stronger now.

Where did you get the new pump? Have a part number for it? Thanks.

I got it at schucks. They had three different kinds sitting in the aisles. The rest they had to get from behind the counter. It's a Purolator Posi-flo. There were two different kinds of those, a weak one and a stronger one. Both were $39.99 so I got the bigger one. Then they had a much nicer one that I couldn't afford. :)

PRO 06SV, black fuel pump, red packaging.
