Bilsteins if you can get them, a good economical shock would be some Pro Comp ES3000's, they run about $31 a shock. the Billies are around $75 per shock.

found these on ebay for ya!!

i don't know bout the best, but i'm running rancho rs5000 on my truch and it handles sweet, it sticks to the pavement like glue and the're not harsh or too springy when i head up my mile and a half washboard driveway.

Pro Comps are very good for the money. ES3000s are fine for most stuff, 1000s if you want tough shock but a street smooth ride, and you can get 5000s I think that are on the stiff side for my taste. If you catch it at the right time you can get them 4 for the price of 3 over at http://www.4Wheelparts.com

I am guessing that the Explorer 1,3,5000 series is for the rear?
I dont have my truck yet and I see the fronts appear different than the image on this dot com site.....
Nevermind, now I see the front/rear sets for sale as a set.
These bolt right into the LUV set-ups?

Using Explorer Pro Comp ES3000. Full set with shipping $89. No problems on/off road. Little tight not like riding on air, yet the support is there!

FYI I had to cut the rubber to the sleeve for it to fit right.
