I had this happen on my 80 4x4. Turned to be stuck calipers. I took them off and cleaned, polished bores. A rebuild kit put them back to like new. Good brakes ever since. Then there were the rears!!

I know where your coming from on the rears, I just got mine done about 2 years ago, completely rebuilt the whole rear end of the thing. I guess I will see if I can go find me a rebuild kit for the calipers. I will just completely redo the whole front brakes... Thanks for the tip!

I have to rebuild mine as well. I am afraid to take them off cause I have a sneaky suspicion it will be a junk yard trip - YIKES. What I may do is take the rear axle off a trooper and put them on since they are easier to get parts for.

Wish ya luck!

the front disks are pretty easy to clean up and make em like new again. There are rebuild kets available and they aren't that expensive....
