Delta makes custom regrinds for the 4-banger, I'm getting their "260" torque cam, and MEPR also has one of their cams. You can find them here:

The Holly that is avalible is just a Holly built Weber. I don't know what the cam lift an dur. is, I'd say just look it up in your repair manual.

Delta quoted me $55 to have the cam done.

um with the Holly carb, dude i think 500cfm is way too much for the 1.8, the upgraded Weber is only 300 or so cfm, you run a carb that big your going to be running into some serious fuel issues, even if you get the thing on there your going to be running waaaay too rich for the motor. I sugest selling the Holly and then looking around on e-bay for a Weber, that way your getting a carb thats better suited for the motor.

tom, come down to all hours and get a holley 5200 (ford weber) thats on a pinto. the motors a 2.0 so itll be jetted just right for the 1.8. that 500 is WAY to much for the 1.8 guy. put the 500 on ebay and make a buck off of it. cmon, dont be dumb now.

yeah a 500 holly is way too much(I run one of these on my built 300 Ford six and i had to jet it down), youll never get it to run right. I would just stick whith a weber, they are a better carb in my opinion anyway, especially for off road stuff...

There is a such thing as too much carb. If you want to get exotic and build something, find a non-turbo Isuzu Impulse 87 or earlier and pull all the parts to go fuel injected. Not enough? Combine that intake with some parts off a turbo impulse...

Actually guys... with all do respect, i do believe the 500 can be made to work... I do admit that you would need more interal modifications than a cam and some bigger valves, however.... The 500 2 bbl is a favorite among users of the Ford 2.0/2.3 ohc four bangers. Just an fyi they use the Ford 2.3 four banger with a max carb size of 500cfm in the nascar style stock truck races.... Such a conversion to a 4 cylinder application would require a smaller power valve smaller metering block passages and dramatically reduced jets, mostly because the 500 is well suited to be up on top of a healthy v-8..... but nonetheless it can be done, with amazing success, if you do the homework, math and calculations...

However I do agree with everyone else above when they say that it is VERY impratical.... And especially not recommended if this will be used as a street truck/daily driver due to the lack of low end power and idle to mid fuel ratio stability

Just my two cents worth....

I think you are going to be pretty much on your own with swapping valves. Most of the people seeking HP around here give up on the 4 banger and drop a V8 in its place. You should check out the thread in the General section about geminis. Those Aussie Gemini guys do a lot more extreme stuff, and the motors used in them are the same Isuzu 4 cylinder.
