have you guys ever but a trans and rearend out of an 89 isuzu pup in an older luv .say like a 75 luv will i'm getting ready to start so if you all have some help or what ever please let me know thanks it is still a 4 banger so i can save on gas i have a gas hog 93 4x4 sub with 454 3/4 axles

In theory it could be possible, but there are some catches. The rear end, no problem, should bolt up with a few minor mods. Worst you'll face is figuring out how to hook up the e-brake cables. The trans though is a different can of worms for a 75 and earlier truck. The starter is on the wrong side of the engine, so you would need to need to actually cut and modify the bellhousing of the trans, or bolt the rear plate from a newer motor to the back of an older motor to relocate the starter. With a talented fab person I am sure the bell could be modded to fit, eventually, but not cheaply. The other option could be pretty close to bolt on though.

I've been thinking about the 72-75 5 speed problem off and on lately and I keep meaning to do some checking to see what can be done. I'll crawl through my parts supply and see if a newer rear plate will bolt to an older motor sometime soon. That would open up a lot of options for the older trucks: stock style 4x4 swap, 72-80 4spds for replacements, 5 spd upgrades, and so forth. Would be kinda fun to see an old motor pushing a Trooper 5 Spd out to 4x4 axles, what could have been in 72 if Isuzu/GM had gotten the idea right out of the box.

so the 75 and older had a old luv motor in it well i think if that is true then i am a lucky man some one put a newer motor and trans in this truck i did not know witch year was what i new it was some where in there thinks for the info next week some time i'm going to start this thing
