Anywhere from $850 to $1500.

I got a quote here in LA for $850. I've had others that were $1100 and Pep Boys and Kragen said about $1500.

I suggest you find a shop around your area that can rebuild your eng. I think it's cheaper that way. 8)

Are there any places where you live that sell those "crate" motors? Here in the SF Bay area, there are several...

I put one in mine, Everything bolted right up, and its been working well for about 10 years now, plus it gave me a slight upgrade to 2.0 displacement. It cost me about $500 as I recall.

mine cost $850 just for the machine work, the master kit cost $450 and that was with .05 overbore, pistons, rings, pins, new crank+bearings, rods and all the seals+gaskets. i still had to buy a new timing set (80$)and an oil pump($65)

to tell the truth, i don't think it was really worth it, unless you're doing a restoration or running a hot cam with a weber and a set of hedders.

You wouldn't happen to have any contact info for them would you?

Thanks,

Chad

The price could have changed in the last 15 years. :D But if its still cheap, I'd be willing to go down to the bay area. If you get a price quote, please post it here. thanks 8)
