anyone ever made drop blocks out of 2x3x3/8 square tubing? just wondering if anyone made any, and if they worked well? like if they warped side to side or anything.

I had thought about that. It would probably be solid if you welded end caps on them, give it a shot. Personally I would just go spend the $20 and buy them. :)

awesome, let me know how it works out. I have the money to buy them but I would rather spend $20 in metal and welding wire and make them myself lol.

well theres a small problem with the pup now. since i put the blocks on, its developed a vibration from the driveline. so i either need to shorten the driveline, or get some pinion shims or somthing.

but other than that, it worked out great. im gonna be gettin my set of 185 70 14s on it on my black wheels, and then scuff it and shoot some other color on it. the white looks like crap and i dont like it. im prolly gonna go with a dark primer grey for it.

ill try to get some pics of it. it looks like shit right now, but i dont care.

That sounds like pinion angle to me. Could be your u-joints are already on the way out and the change in angle is just making them complain, but they still shouldn't vibrate too much. If you can get your hands on a guage to measure the angle on the pinion and the trans that will make it a whole lot easier to figure out. Problem with a lowered truck is figuring out how to get under it to measure with it sitting on its wheels. ;) My 77 is close to stock height (a little spring sag and a little torsion drop in front) and I would be challenged to even touch my driveline.

well, 800, you were right about the agnles being off and the u joints goin out. i had my front u joint totally frag last night. i have to get a new driveline now. also a new tranny, cuz the vibration was soo bad that it tore the bushing, seal, and part of the tranny off and out. i guess i should have done someting about that vibrastion when i first noticed it. oh well. :( :smt102
